ABOUT

A thoughtful, practical, results-focused learning professional

My approach begins with understanding what an organization needs employees to do differently. I use performance data, employee feedback, stakeholder input, workflows, job expectations, and existing resources to identify the cause of a performance gap before recommending a solution.

“I believe effective learning begins with the performance need, not the authoring tool. Before designing a course, I ask what business result needs to improve, what employees need to do differently, and what may be preventing the desired behavior.”

That question often leads somewhere other than a course. A performance gap can come from unclear expectations, missing resources, an inefficient process, a system limitation, or the absence of feedback. Naming the real cause protects the organization from investing in training that cannot solve the problem.

When training is the right answer, I design for application: realistic practice, meaningful consequences, and content limited to what learners need in order to act. When it is not the right answer, I say so and propose the solution that will work — performance support, process improvement, clearer communication, or a combination.

I also treat stakeholder communication as design work. A storyboard, a pitch deck, and a measurement plan are how a recommendation earns support before development begins.
